Although I was born in Midland and my earliest memories are of living in Greenwood, I consider Christoval, Texas to be home. I graduated from high school in 2008 and attended South Plains College in Levelland for one year before joining the United States Army.
I was stationed in Hawaii and did a one-year deployment in northern Iraq. Shortly after my deployment I met my wife Megan, who is from northern Idaho and was attending college at the University of Hawaii. After a short courtship and engagement, we were married in February 2012. It was soon after that I felt God’s call on my life to student ministry.
I re-entered civilian life the day before Thanksgiving in 2012. We moved to Brownwood, Texas so that I could attend Howard Payne University. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry in December 2015 and will complete my master’s in Youth Ministry in December of this year.
While in Brownwood, we have served in the student ministry at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. We both began as small group leaders, but in January 2014 I began serving as the student ministry worship intern. In August of 2015 I began serving as the junior high teaching intern, and I continue to serve in that capacity now.
Most of Megan’s family lives in Idaho, though one younger brother lives in Nevada. Mine are mostly in the Brownwood area. We do not have children as of yet, but our dog Kona keeps us plenty busy.
